Brands entering the Blogosphere

Technorati has recently released the fifth part of their State of the Blogosphere report. According to the report the most significant trend is that brands are entering the blogosphere. More than eight in ten bloggers post product or brand reviews, and almost nine in ten blog about brands that they love or hate.

The report is definately a must read for brands who want to understand more about the blogosphere. One advice though: before reaching out to bloggers, please get yourself acquainted with how your brand is currently being discussed in social media. And yes, you can start with basic free tools to get a feel before you decide to work with a more sophisticated solution. Just go to http://search.technorati.com/ and enter the brand name you’ld like to monitor. From the search results you can get an RSS feed to subscribe to the results in your feed reader.
